Cher has been the subject of some much-unwanted heat as the pop superstar is being sued for alleged racial discrimination and sexual assault, according to a former dancer.
The singer has been accused of claiming that her quite successful "Dressed to Kill" tour had "too much color" and instructed choreographer Kevin Wilson, a person of color himself, to not hire any black dancers.
Instead, she instructed him to hire blonde, white girls. And, accordingly to this philosophy, she fired Wilson and two other black dancers seemingly because of their race.
Wilson and dancer Suzanne Easter are now suing the pop star claiming that they were wrongfully fired for racial discrimination.
Also, there is a long-standing claim that Cher is covering up a sexual assault charge that was carried out by one of the dancers during the Louisville show back in June.
A rep for the singer said, "These are ridiculous allegations. They couldn't be further from the truth."
Cher's lawyer honed in on the racial statements, calling them "untrue and categorically denied."
Absurd, maybe, but this certainly won't bode well for her image, which may be irreparably torn by the allegations. If it proves to be true, one can bank that Cher won't be having another top tour of the year anytime soon.
A heart of stone, indeed, Ms. Cher.
