Bad news for fans of Bravo's Shahs of Sunset--not only has Lilly Ghalichi been fired from the Season 4 cast, but the entire set of episodes is being postponed from airing indefinitely. According to the latest gossip news updates, a strike led by the crew reportedly in demand for health benefits is escalating as Ryan Seacrest production company refuses to negotiate with unionizing workers. As the Motion Pictures Editor Guild ramps up pressure by cornering Bravo network sponsors, some fear that the series could wind up cancelled all together.
The gloves are seemingly coming of in the confrontation between the striking Shahs of Sunset crew and their employer Ryan Seacrest Productions.
According to Deadline, the Motion Picture Editors Guild is pushing some RSP pressure points by virtually threatening advertisers that continue to do business with the Bravo.
In a letter reportedly sent by the group to large ad agenesis, the Guild made it crystal clear that their enemy's friend in their enemy also:
"We encourage you to advise your clients that we retain our right to communicate with our members, members of affiliated organizations, and the public at large about those brands sponsoring the conduct of entities with which we have a labor dispute."
A spokesman for the network admitted that there is no way Bravo can even begin to predict, at this time, when the show will ever be returning to the air (via Deadline):
"Bravo has decided to push the premiere date for Shahs of Sunset to a later date.
"The new airdate has yet to be determined."
It seems that the IATSE is hoping that strong arm tactics will be enough to scare the powers that be at Bravo and UBCUniversal to push the all parties towards the negotiating table, but at this point the strike still continues as does the Shahs postponement.
