This week, jazz man Matthew Shipp released his Greatest Hits album on Thirsty Ear Recordings.
Shipp, who started to take piano lessons at the age of 5, fell in love with jazz when he was only 12 years old. In 1984, Shipp moved to New York and quickly became one of the leading jazz men in the city's jazz scene.
Shipp's extensive discography contains many recordings he released in 1990s and 2000s. By picking his best tracks, Shipp now offers his greatest hits on one album.
