The DC Universe is taking over the small screen once again. Between Arrow, The Flash, Constantine and Gotham, all airing this fall, and a slew of the other projects in the pipeline, including the rumored Teen Titans series, DC Comic character will be flooding the screen. With all those properties bouncing around different networks, one might expect that Warner Brothers would put an embargo on certain characters. However, Fox’s Gotham (Batman prequel) has no limit on what characters it can bring to the table, even Killer Croc could show up.
Recently, Gotham executive producer and showrunner, Bruno Heller, spoke with reporters about what kind villains we expect to see in the series (Via Business Insider):
"We're ready to go with any of them. We haven't excluded anyone from the mix potentially, but generally what we're looking at is characters where there is some drama or a story behind how they got to be the way they are. We're looking for characters who live in the real world of Gotham as opposed to the even more super real world of Metropolis if you like. It's not about super powers, it's about super will, if you like. We veer towards those characters who are interesting as people, rather than interesting for their particular power or their particular gimmick or their costume."
Heller went on to add to that they may even bring Killer Croc to the screen, although he acknowledged how hard that would be:
"There are certainly characters that would be very difficult to put on the screen. That crocodile guy is a tough one--although we may go there."
