After New Apple iWatch and iPhone 6 Release Date; Cost; Battery Specs and Display Size; Samsung Ads Attack

Apple made big news this week at their keystone address, where the company unveiled their new phones, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone Plus, as well as their new product line, the Apple Watch, dubbed the iWatch by the press. After releasing details about the devices, including their release dates, costs, specs and display size, major competitor Samsung went on the attack.

It's no secret that Apple and Samsung are some of the fiercest competitors in the tech industry, more so than the great rivalry between Microsoft and Apple in years past.

Not only do the two companies sue each other in every major market (with mixed results, depending on what country they happen to be in), but now they're attacking each other on the small screen.

After Apple announced that they would be releasing the iPhone 6 Plus-the first phablet (a mobile device that size lies somewhere between a smart phone and a tablet) from the company, Samsung was prepared with an ad that mocked the company, as Wall Street Journal reports:

"The company's latest TV ad for the new Samsung Note 4, which debuted this weekend, features a narrator reading aloud negative reviews that the product received three years ago. Like the iPhone 6 Plus, the Note 4 is referred to by some as a 'phablet' or a combination of phone and tablet, because of its big size."

The company went on to tell Apple users that they could thank Samsung for their big new iPhone displays, and they happen to be right.

After all, Apple viciously attacked Samsung, when the company released the first phablet into the market.

But now Apple seems to be following suit with their new iPhone 6 Plus. In case you missed our live coverage of the keynote event, here are the specs for Apple's new phones:

Size: The iPhone 6 will have a 4.7 inch display, while the iPhone 6 Plus will command an impressive 5.5-inch display.

Resolution: The iPhone 6 will have a resolution of 1334 x 750 resolution, giving users a 720p HD experience. The Plus has a resolution of 1920 x 1080, giving users a full 1080p HD experience.

Graphics: Both iPhones are powered by Apple's patented A8 chip, which allows for 50 % faster graphics and 25% faster processing. That's over 50 times faster processing than the original iPhone, with graphics being 84 times faster than iPhone 1.

Battery: The iPhone 6 is 50 % more energy efficient.

Fitness: Due to a new barometer that senses air pressure and measures elevation, fitness apps will be taken to the next level. iPhone 6 will be able to determine if users are walking up or down inclines.

Wi-Fi: Apple has finally introduced a new feature that allows for WiFi calling. They've also improved the technology so speeds are up to 3 times faster than the previous model.

Camera: The new iSight camera has been upgraded in an incredible manner. iPhone 6 has an 8MP iSight camera, 1.5µ pixels, ƒ/2.2 aperture.
