NBC ‘Marry Me’ TV Show: ‘Kenny Powers’’ Ken Marino and 'SNL' Tim Meadows Star in Atypical Network Sitcom? [VIDEO NEWS]

David Caspe, executive producer and co-creator of NBC's new fall comedy, Mary Me, insists that you shouldn't get let the name full you, his new TV show is not the run of the mill family based sitcom that you have been used to seeing for the last thirty years. Apparently, the series--partially based on Caspe's life an marriage to the female lead, Casey Wilson--is more about letting East Bound and Down, Kenny Powers' nemesis, Ken Marina and Saturday Night Live vet, Tim Meadows, bring the funny than it is following any lame plot line from week to week.

It seems that it is far easier for creator and NBC showrunner, David Caspe, to tell you all of the things that his new series, Marry Me, starring Ken Marino and Casey Wilson, isn't about than it is to apparently give you any real kind of outline for the show.

During a recent interview for Us Weekly's September 22, issue, Caspe claimed that you deffinately shoudn't expect a show that is literally about people getting engaged or married:

"[Marry Me] is not a show where episode 2 in about a wedding dress, and episode 3 is 'We need another dress!...Their personalities are wildly different."

By all accounts comedy giants Ken Marino, originally from MTV sketch comedy group the State, and Tim Meadows, who truly needs no introduction, steal the chow with the off-the-cuff banter.

The show may even turn out to be hit if only David Caspe could figure out exactly what direction his new show is going to head towards.

The producer told The Wrap it was like other stuff you'd seen before only funnier and completely different, in a way:

"It's just hard... Everything feels like it's been done already, so you just try to do it funnier.

"I don't know what we're doing. It's not about marriage...we just couldn't think of a better title."

Well, that's good to know.

Marry Me premieres October 14, at 9 p.m. on NBC.
