CW ‘The 100’ Show Lincoln Ricky Whittle Talks Renewed Season 2 Deaths [SPOILERS]

The mid-season CW The 100 was one of the surprise hits of the past season. Now with the renewed series gearing up for a second season, grounder Lincoln (Ricky Whittle) is opening up about the show’s return. However, not everyone is going to make out of the season alive, as Whittle told Digital Spy:

"The great thing about The 100 is that they're not scared to kill off lead characters. We've already killed off several of the cast. And it's gonna get worse! They like to keep that fear factor, they like to keep the shock value in there.No-one is safe on this show. [Being a series regular] doesn't mean that your character is safe, it's just a nice term...The writers are so creative. They basically give the audience what they need, not what they want. So just because the audience wants a couple to get together or wants someone to survive or wants someone to die, the writers and the producers aren't going to write that unless it's needed for the storyline to progress or to add something to the show.”

Whittle went on to plead for his job, adding:

"So I just have to hope that I'm doing enough and that the producers and the writers are enjoying my work, to keep me alive! That and turn up early, and don't rock the boat. Lots of fruit baskets keep getting sent to the writers, I keep sending them tickets to shows!"

The 100 returns for its second season on Oct 22.
