According to the latest gossip news updates, Ellen and Portia's relationship seems to be going strong for now. But how long can that last now that an over controlling Ellen has returned to her ego inflating day time talk show gig.

After month upon months of relentless prying and speculation by internet and print tabloids, it seems that Ellen DeGeneres is still determined to have the last laugh.

Upon returning to her television show, the comedienne took another playful swing at the never-ending reports that she and de Rossi are ready to walk from their marriage (via Yahoo):

"I had a great summer...I went on a trip with Portia, my beautiful wife--who I'm happily married to, but thank you for your heartfelt concern, tabloids."

Although, how seriously are you supposed to take statements like the when they are really just used to set up a few lame jokes in her monolog:

"We went to France...It's a beautiful country. France is. I'll tell you one little complaint I do have is - they speak French like all the time. It's annoying.

"Normally I bring back pictures to show you from my summer, but I didn't take any this time. Luckily, people took photos of us and they posted them on their Instagram.

"So I thought that saves me some time and money so I'll show you a few of those."

A source told People that it was easy for Ellen to poke a little fun at the whole situation now that DeGeneres and Portia are focusing on their relationship together:

"They've had their ups and downs...[but] they've worked out difficulties in the past, and no doubt they're trying to work out any problems right now."

Right...now let's see how long all that lasts.
