There were lots of lessons to be learned last Sunday after the Philadelphia Eagles mounted an impressive comeback win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Philly's second half comeback victory was valuable to both the Eagles and the Jaguars. While Eagles QB Nick Foles led his team to 34 unanswered points after halftime, Jags coach Gus Bradley thinks the tough loss will stick in his players' heads for the rest of the season.
Despite an abysmal first half, Philly QB Nick Foles mounted a dramatic comeback on Sunday. Jacksonville led 17-0 at the half, but Foles rallied his team in the second half with 34 straight points and two touchdown passes.
While Foles has detractors, a strong Philadelphia running game should allow him some freedom in the pocket to put up some respectable numbers (via Bleacher Report):
"The Eagles are fresh off a 10-6 season and NFC East division title, and expectations are high that Nick Foles can run Kelly's offense just as efficiently as he did in '13."
Coach Chip Kelly was happy to see his team maintain its composure and go out and execute his game plan after a slow start (via ESPN):
"You can't lose your head out there. You have to understand that it's a long game. We felt there were plays to be made."
On the other side of the ball, Jacksonville coach Gus Bradley is hoping that the Jags' heartbreaking week 1 loss will serve as a motivation to keep their focus on playing a whole game and holding on to big leads (via ESPN):
"It's going to be a good lesson for us to take a look at this game and see it is going to be a full 60 minutes that you have to play."
