Rumor has it that the real reason Michael Strahan's girlfriend, Nicole, decided to announce their split on the very weekend of his NFL Hall of Fame induction had to do with Eddie Murphy's ex-wife's plan to ruin the talk show host's reputation. According to the gossip news updates, Nicole was looking to land a blow, by shining light on Mike's infidelity, that would permanently knock the cheating Live with Kelly and Michael! star off his pedestal, and it might have worked. Good Morning America announced today that it would be adding another one-time NFL star to its early morning cast lineup--Tim Tebow. No one has announced any plans to fire Strahan as of yet, but how many former footballer could ABC possibly need?
When word went round just hours before Michal Strahan was to accept the greatest honor of his career--his induction into the NFL Hall of Fame--that his girlfriend, Nicole Murphy, had publicly called off their engagement, most people were able to put one and one together for themselves.
For the less cynical amongst us, a source explained to OK Magazine for the August 25, issue, what everyone had already presumed was the real motivating factor behind breakup's dubious timing:
"Michael and Nicole haven't been happy for a while now; and when they did talk, it was mostly arguing.
"She knew that he would be livid if she leaked news if their split during the biggest weekend of his career, but she refused to play the role of doting fiancé any longer."
It looks like the reported stratagem may have worked, as one of Michael's employers just announced that they were adding another former footballer to the crew.
According to the Washington Post, Good Morning America have hired none other than the infamous Tim Tebow to join their star studded cast:
"Good Morning America announced a new host today-- Tim Tebow.
"The quarterback, who played three years in the NFL before becoming a free agent without a team, has already worked with ESPN as an analyst and guest hosted GMA during Super Bowl week this year, so the transition into a more permanent contributor shouldn't be too difficult for the 27-year-old athlete.
"Tebow will premiere on Sept. 15 when he comes in to help launch the program's 'Motivate Me Monday' series, which features 'individuals and their amazing stories of triumph.'"
Or, at least, that is all Tim is going to be doing for them, for now.
