Big 10: University of Maryland Terrapin Football Team Prints 'Star-Spangled Banner' Lyrics on Uniforms for West Virginia Game

What is more American than American football? How about putting the lyrics to The Star-Spangled Banner on your jerseys as you sack your quarterback? Well, University of Maryland, you've won. Now what's your prize?

Fielding the envy (and maybe ire) of their peers, every other college football team should be so creative. The University of Maryland unveiled a new set of helmets and uniforms that scream that incandescent patriotism.

The Terps will be wearing the new costumes, which sport the lyrics of the national anthem, during their Saturday game with West Virginia.

And just as athletics go, the players will become nameless, removing their surnames printed on the backs of their uniforms and instead embroidering "TRIUMPH" across the back.

If that wasn't enough, the team captains will wear red belts as an homage to the belts worn by American military captains during the Battle of Baltimore, according to Deadspin.

Yes, patriotism just got a fashionable new makeover for the Terps in College Park. Now staunch right-wingers can enjoy both their Budweiser and 'Murrica from the sidelines.

In the meantime, here's Evancho sporting her classical patriotism last year.
