Bill Murray might be starring in the upcoming Disney live-action Jungle Book movie, but he doesn’t have any plans on returning for the new Ghostbusters reboot. However, he knows just who to call to replace him. Murray has recently suggested that Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Linda Cardellini and Emma Stone as part of his dream cast of female Ghostbusters. If Bridesmaids director Paul Feig gets the gig helming the remake, than we may just see these lovely ladies crossing streams pretty soon.
Bill Murray recently spoke to The Toronto Star about the possibility of an all female Ghostbusters reboot, telling the publication:
“I’m fine with it. I would go to that movie, and they’d probably have better outfits, too.”
Murray went on to suggest some of his choices for leads:
“Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny --God, she’s funny! I like this girl Linda Cardellini (Mad Men) a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”
Melissa McCarty also weigh in on the casting rumors, telling reporters:
“I think that somebody is really trying to do it, but nobody has talked to me about it. Listen, if the people I think are doing it are doing it, I must never question them.”
She wet on to add that she would be up for the role if the right were people involved:
“Oh, my God, that’s daunting. That’s taking on a legend, a legendary movie. But I would do anything with those ladies, anything at all.”
