J-pop sensation Mayama Rika, of girl group Shiritsu Ebisu Chuugaku, (shortened to Ebichu)
will debut as a solo artist this fall with "Liar Mask" set to be used as the theme song for the anime Akame ga Kill.
The solo artist news was reported by anime staff who appeared on Rika’s live-broadcast program on Ustream.
During a recent interview, Rika said on the debut that she "will sing wholeheartedly" so as not to dishonor the anime's name.
The 17-year old also shared her plans for the future stating, "I want to be able to appear by myself in an anime song live.” “My goal is Animelo Summer Live,” she said.
She even brought the news home to her mother, "Mama, I don't think you know about anime, but it's 'Akame ga Kill!'. Yukarin-san is in it.”
However, Rika is already a player in the anime-related job game. She had her first femaile anime voice role as Shizuka Kisarazu in the spring 2014 TV anime Nanana's Buried Treasure.
The single "Liar Mask" is set to be released in Japan on November 26.
