A principal flutist of the New York Philharmonic was reunited with her prized instruments that were stolen over the weekend.
New York Police Department helped Alexandra Sopp, 28, recover her flute and piccolo, worth $42,000 combined, by obtaining a description of the suspect from witnesses and looking at the building's surveillance camera footage.
"Thanks to a miracle, thanks to the amazing NYPD, thanks to my own serendipitous team of emotional support and detectives," Sopp wrote on her Facebook page. "I have been reunited with my flutes."
The Juilliard School grad was celebrating after a performance at a bar on Amsterdam Avenue on Saturday night, when she noticed that her bag containing the instruments was missing.
Police say the suspect Gary Richards, 48, was arrested on charges of grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
