Ringo Starr Calls ISIS Terrorist Beatles and Jihadi John Nicknames “Bullsh*T” After ‘Message to America’ Beheading Videos

By now you have likely heard of the ISIS terrorist group’s brutal “Message to America” videos, in which they beheaded two American journalist, James Foley and Steven Sotloff. The English speaking executioner has reportedly nicknamed Jihad John, in reference to John Lennon by captives, on account of his English accent. The group of three English speaking ISIS members are being refereed to as The Beatles. Now, Ringo Starr has spoken out about the nickname, calling it “bullsh*t” and not just because the numbers don’t add up.

NBC News recently spoke with an unnamed source who filed them in on the terrorist nickname, adding:

“Whenever the Beatles showed up, there was some kind of physical beating or torture.”

A former ISIS member spoke to CNN about the reason behind using an executioner with a British accent:

"It is possible that the goal was to project the image that a European, or a Western person, executed an American so that they can showcase their Western members and appeal to others outside Syria and make them feel that they belong to the same cause."

The unnamed former ISIS member also spoke more about the groups recruiting goals:

"The main and principal goal of the Islamic State that they tell their new members is to establish an Islamic state that will encompass the Arab world. And after that, we go to other countries."

Ringo Starr himself, has now responded to the nickname, telling British media outlet, London Evening Standard, just how he felt about the name:

“If we stood for anything we never stood for that. The four of us absolutely stood for peace and love. But we are not in control.”
