Things are looking up for Pete Rose. After being disgraced and banned from professional baseball 25 years ago for betting on Major League games, the gambling pariah has worked long and hard to win back the affections of the American public. After being honored by a Minor League team recently, who allowed him to take pitches during a game, Rose says he hopes Commissioner Bud Selig will reinstate him. In the meantime, Rose recently turned a nice real estate profit after selling his home in Sherman Oaks.
Reportedly selling his house for $1.9 million after buying it in 1999 for a cool $913,000, Rose might be headed to Gambler's Paradise (via TMZ):
"No word on why Rose decided to part ways with the crib -- it's a pretty cool spot (pool, palm trees, office, bbq area) ... but he does spend a lot of time in Vegas these days."
As far as Pete's dream of finally making it to the Baseball Hall of Fame, Rose is optimistic (via Fox Sports):
"Everyone wants to talk about the (incoming) commissioner, but I haven't given up on Bud. Bud has good things to say about me now. And he probably should, because I'm doing good things."
Hey, at least he didn't do steroids.
