Artist-Without-Residence: Kate Bush's £2.5 million Estate In Danger of Careening Into the Ocean

At least when Odysseus was away from home, all Penelope had to worry about were suitors. Unlike Kate Bush, who has to worry about her £2.5 million, five-bed property, which is slowly careening over the cliffside into the ocean, according to the Exeter Express and Echo.

This is not a test. In 2013, a landslip caused a section of the coast new Kingsbridge to fall into the depths below. According to the report, Bush's neighbor is inches away from the 88-foot drop and next will be Bush's estate.

"If you live there you can either accept it and let your house fall into the sea, or you can take action to prevent further damage, although that can cost hundreds of thousands," said Devon County Council's Steve Gardner.

As one could imagine, news outlets took to their headlines about the debacle, one facetiously reading "Kate Bush is Literally Living Life on the Edge" from MTV. Good one, guys.

But in all seriousness, Bush, who is currently in residency at London's Eventim Hammersmith Apollo may have a lot more on her hands than her patrons' iPhones.

So like they say, make sure your house is in order before you go to work. Perhaps Bush is now forced to heed this timeless creed.

"Wuthering Heights," indeed.
