Denver Broncos tight end Wes Welker flatly denies that he took drugs. But the NFL has suspended him for four games, claiming he tested positive for amphetamine and ecstasy. The allegations and fast action has Welker saying that the testing system is flawed. Whether or not he did Molly or any other strain of MDMA, there is still a question of his friend Tom Brady's weird reaction at a press conference.
There are rumors that Welker's strange behavior back in May at the Kentucky Derby was because he was high on Ecstasy, but he absolutely denies that he is a druggie (via CBS Sports):
"I'm as shocked as everyone at today's news. I want to make one thing abundantly clear: I would NEVER knowingly take a substance to gain a competitive advantage in any way."
Welker's good friend Tom Brady had a very standoff-ish answer to the questions about his behavior. He had no comment about Welker's extra-curricular activities, but that actually makes reporters even more suspicious (via TMZ):
"As a friend, you always hope the best. But, this is not friend time. It's opponent time. My focus is on the Dolphins."
