Cee Lo Green’s Twitter account is back up and running and it looks a little different. No longer is a bastion for rape culture, but instead he spreading a different message of love, and respect and Music video. Cee Lo has also apologized for the offense comments, without admitting to ever having had said (typed) them. Could the former Voice coach have been hacked, or is the “F**K You” singer just covering his tail?
Cee Lo Green, fresh off his no contest plea to felony drug slipping, (that being the technical legal term) went off and made a few controversial comments about rape, at least according to his Twitter account. Just a few of the career haunting gems, posted to Green’s account, including:
"When someone brakes on a home there is broken glass. Where is your plausible proof anyone was raped?"
"Women who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!" he added.
"If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH implies consent."
Green’s account then issued an apology of sorts, before disappearing temperley:
“I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context. I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I’d never condone the harm of any women. Thank you.”
Now, the account is back up, and Green issued an apology, for the comments that he hasn’t really owned up to:
“I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe.”
Green has also posted his B-Side track, “Bridges”:
