The Kansas City Chiefs, as usual, look like a mid-level NFL team. As such, it shouldn't be surprising that the Chiefs are expected to turn up in the middle of the field. A recent blog prediction places their likely win-loss record at .500. On the plus side, though, they did sign veteran safety Kurt Coleman.
Coleman comes to Kansas City from Philadelphia's program by way of the Minnesota Vikings. The thinking is that they can stand to beef up their secondary due to injury concerns (via ESPN):
"The Chiefs could use the help at safety. Eric Berry missed the whole preseason and a part of training camp with an injured heel. Berry has returned to practice and looked good on Monday. But the Chiefs needed better options if Berry has to leave their lineup again."
Despite their new addition, it seems they don't look like a breakout team this year. Adam Teicher of ESPN, for example, thinks they will end up 8-8 when the season is over and done with.
