Microsoft Xbox One Games with Gold Free Game Downloads For September 2014: ‘Super Time Force’ Replaces ‘Strike Suit Zero’ [REVIEW] [VIDEO]

It is September and that means that there are all new Xbox One Games with Golds games available. OK! Well this is one of those off months where we only get one free new game download. This month the side-scrolling, time-jumping, gunner, Super Time Force, replaces Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut.

The official Xbox.com Xbox Wire blog preview for the new game, Super Time Force reads:

Super Time Force began with a simple concept: merge side-scrolling classic Contra with a ‘time-reversal’ hook to create a unique action-shooting experience. Super Time Force throws a lot of enemies and projectiles at you at once, but don’t despair--if you mess up, you can press a button to rewind to a point where you can do it all over again, the right way. But that’s not all; your ‘ghost’ (the replay of the playthrough where you just died) will continue to fight alongside you for the new try, turning even your screw-ups into helpful teamwork opportunities. You might say that’s mighty neighborly of... yourself.”

Quick Review:

This game is actually a lot more fun than it looks, although it can get a little tiresome over complicated for what should be a simple time killer. However, only getting one, very short-lived Xbox One feels like a rip-off. True it’s free, but the Games with Gold program has become a part of what we are paying for. Services like E.A. Access have shown us that we can expect more for less. We can hope that the Xbox One games will pick up as the system grows, until than the Games with Gold program is really nothing to write home about.

What did you think about this month’s Xbox Games with Gold title? Do you want Xbox to up their (free) game, or do you think that beggars can’t be choosers? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
