Boxing's junior bad boy Adrien Broner is aiming to change expectations. The chronic underachiever is known as a clown with potential to be great, despite his seeming indifference. Every time he steps into a ring, he has an opportunity to silence his critics. And on September 6 in his hometown of Cincinnati, Broner aims to do just that. But that doesn't mean he won't still clown around a little bit. When predicting a knockout over Emmanuel Taylor, Broner said he'd deliver a 30-piece and a biscuit.
It's not like boxing isn't built around hype. But Broner always seems to put his own special spin on things (via ESPN):
"I have to give them a knockout, I got to. And it's got to be pretty, too. I think I'm going to hit him with the 30 piece and the biscuit."
The Cincinnati Kid defends himself, saying that it's part of his job to make people talk about him (via Yahoo Sports):
"People say I'm a professional boxer, and I am. But that's only a part of who I am. I'm also a professional entertainer. I'm a guy that needs the lights and the cameras focused on me."
