Though rumors floated around at the time of filming Fast and Furious 7, that franchise star, Vin Diesel, was having some real trouble getting along on the set, Riddick has since explained that shooting the sequel without bestie Paul Walker, whose autopsy later revealed was still alive immediately after the car crash, was the hardest thing that he has ever been asked to do. According to the latest gossip news cast spoiler updates, Fast 7 is going to be all about the action packed revenge, so, at least, Diesel got to work through some frustration by reportedly using Jason Stratham's head as a punching bag.
Universal was quick to defend Vin Diesel and the rest of the cast and crew when reports started to surface during the return to production on Fast and Furious 7, that people were starting to have some problems with action star.
But when you hear Vin explain what he was going through to Michael Strahan on Live with Kelly and Michael!, you can understand why his producers stuck up for him (via Huffington Post):
"It's a heavy thing, Michael. You know?...Yeah guys, you know it's a rough one. You all had people you love that passed away.
"It was someone that, we...we grew up in the business together, and we became famous together, and we represented the biggest franchise together.
"He was my partner, and it's a strange thing to...I've been acting all my life and they don't teach you in acting [school], how to mourn someone and simultaneously pretend they're in a scene with you."
That being said--it must have been somewhat therapeutic for the muscle bond action actor to pretend to battle Jason Stratham to the death.
According to Movie Pilot, Fast and Furious 7 is all about the cast settling old score and bringing the pain:
"The key theme of the movie seems to be revenge. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker's characters are intent of revenge for the killing of Han, while Jason Statham, who looks set to have an antagonistic relationship to the main characters, will also be set on revenging his brother's killer.
"One scene which is already being teased to fans is a fight scene between Vin Diesel and Jason Statham, which looks like it could involve the par wielding iron bars."
Now...if someone could just explain could just explain Michelle Rodriguez' strange behavior, that would be something.
