Jerry Jones Possibly Tampering? Dallas Cowboys Owner Talks Adrian Peterson, Johnny Manziel After Stripper Photo Scandal

Jerry Jones is freaking James Bond. If, ya know, James Bond was a character on Dallas. The owner of the Cowboys acts as his own GM, and says whatever he damn pleases. But did he cross the line when he spoke to Vikings running back Adrian Peterson? Whispers are already flying that his conversation could have amounted to a violation of the NFL's tampering policy. Though Jones has publicly announced an admiration for players like Peterson and hot shot rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel, there are strict rules about interactions with players from other teams. But do you think that matters to the man who survived the great stripper photo scandal of 2014?

Much has been made of a recent phone conversation between Jones and Vikings workhorse Adrian Peterson (via NBC Sports):

"We basically talked. Adrian's from Texas and certainly it was easy to talk to such a great player."

Coy as ever. Just like when he said he wished he'd drafted Johnny Manziel. One gets the feeling that Tony Romo wasn't too wild about that prospect.

But Jerry just smooth-talked Romo (via Dallas News):

"This guy could handle any damn thing. This is your fighter pilot... This is the guy you want goin' in, droppin' and winkin' at 'em, and comin' out, and drinkin' beer. This is him. So he could handle it. It wasn't a question of not handlin' it."
