While former dog fighter Michael Vick is grateful that he's had a second chance at public life and a football career, he's a little miffed that a former teammate didn't return his kindness recently. After publicly defending Eagles receiver Riley Cooper, he didn't expect much. But a simple "thank you" might have been nice. Vick even reportedly sent Cooper a congratulatory text upon signing a new deal. The text was not returned. Hey Michael, you mad bro?
Vick admits that while ultimately he came to realize what a gift his career in Philly was, at first he wasn't having it (via New York Daily News)"
"There will always be the sense of gratitude. That'll never change.
"Going to Philadelphia for the first time, taking the drive up there, I'll never forget (it). It was a place I didn't want to be."
Still, Vick believes that, although paying it forward is pretty cool, sometimes you need to pay it back, too (via Dead Spin):
"A couple of things transpired since [the incident] that I dislike, and I'll be honest with you. After he signed his contract, I sent him a text and I never got a text back, and that made me feel a certain type of way."
