Despite his Wolf of Wall Street Oscar recognition, Jonah Hill has seemingly let himself go since originally slimming down in 2011, and some friends blame the weight loss reversal on bad eating habits fueled by low self-esteem. According to the latest gossip news updates, Channing Tatum's bestie was so insecure while dating singer Alana Haim, that he basically forced his famous girlfriend to split. Let's hope spending some time around models while working with Spike Jonze on a one act play for the fall New York Fashion Week's Opening Ceremony is enough to lift his spirits and inspire some dieting.
If the reports are true, than Jonah Hill's ballooning waste is really just a symptom of his shrinking self-worth.
A supposed friend who spoke to In Touch Weekly for their September 8, issue claimed that Jonah eats because he's sad and he's sad because he eats:
"This is the biggest he has ever been.
"When it comes to food, he has no control...He eats cheeseburgers four times a week.
"He wants to be taken seriously as an actor and is so scared that he'll be typecast as the fat, fun guy again."
Someone claiming to me an insider also blamed Jonah's emotional issues and insecurities for having driven away his last girlfriend, singer Alana Haim (via Star's 8/25 print edition):
"They hit it off and started dating almost immediately...She really like him.
"[But] Alana started touring, and Jonah got jealous and insecure.
"One time, Jonah called her in the middle of the night and accused her of cheating.
"It got to be too much--and she finally ended the relationship."
Now that it is getting time for Jonah and writing collaborator Spike Jonze to hammer out their project for New York Fashoin Week, maybe it will give him the focus to get his life back on track (via Media Bistro):
"Jonze, who has done fashion capsules with Opening Ceremony for his films Where The Wild Things Are and Her, will direct a cast of actors and models in his first project since winning the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for Her earlier this year.
"The storyline is still being finalized, according to OC co-founder Humberto Leon, who noted the play was Jonze's idea, as was bringing on Hill, who is known primarily for acting though his writing credits include 21 Jump Street and its sequel 22 Jump Street."
Well...if Jonah Hill can't find an ego boosting supermodel girlfriend hanging out with Spike Jonze at Fashion Week, than he won't be able to find one anywhere.
