Tampa Bay Bucs Receiver Mike Evans Miami Fist Fight Won't Impact Career Even Though Agent Changed Story

Rookie receiver for the Tampa Bay Bucs, Mike Evans, was caught on film getting into a fist fight in a Miami nightclub. Although it was originally reported that the incident occurred this month, now it seems that it happened in March before he was drafted. Since he wasn't technically an employee of the NFL at the time (and since he wasn't smoking drugs), the incident likely won't impact his career. However, there is much confusion on whether the NFL knew about it or not. It seems that Evans' agent changed his story.

When video broke of Evans getting into a fist fight in a Miami nightclub, initially Evans' agent Deryk Gilmore said that no one in the NFL cared about the incident because no one was arrested. But later on, he amended that statement (via TMZ):

"No one was aware of the incident until today because it wasn't an issue because no one was arrested. They would have been aware, had there been an arrest."

The other confusing thing is the question of when the incident took place. When the story first broke it seemed like a recent story, but as the plot unfolded, it was claimed that the fight actually went down before Evans was even drafted (via New York Daily News):

"If the video was indeed shot in March, Evans could be exempt from punishment by the NFL since he was not an employee of any team at the time of the incident."
