It seems that poor Catwoman just can't seem to catch a break in 2014. First, Halle Berry loses a court battle with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry that reportedly costs her millions of dollars. Then people start to talk about NBC pulling the plug on her Extant series despite counting Steven Spielberg as a producer. Now, to top it all off, according to the latest gossip news updates, her current marriage to French husband Olivier Martinez is near divorce. At this point you have to wonder, if Halle Berry's net worth-- even bolstered by the lucrative new X-MEN movie franchise as it is--can withstand another costly split.
Just when it seemed like things couldn't get any worse for Halle Berry, word has it that the Extant star may be facing yet another major breakup, despite barely being married to her husband, Olivier Martinez, for a year.
According to a supposed insider, who spoke to OK! Magazine for their September 8, issue, Berry is the one who is finding Olivier more and more unattractive by the minute, though the passion is said to have gone out of the marriage some time ago:
"They don't talk to each other much and when they do, it's only about their son.
"She works hard to stay beautiful, but his blatant lack of interest speaks volumes about his feelings for her...He's let himself go a bit."
While it isn't exactly certain whether or not Halle's Monster's Ball costar, Billy Bob Thornton, would be willing to go to the gym to keep her happy or not, the Sling Blade seemed more than a little interested in being with the 48-year-old sex-symbol.
During a recent interview with HuffPost Live, Thornton spoke about their sex scene together almost as though it was a life altering spiritual experience:
"It felt so real when we were doing it that [we felt] the heaviness surrounding the circumstances in the story.
"I think maybe that's why it comes across so well on screen, because it was two desperate human beings in this moment alone, and we kind of were alone."
"When I was growing up, I obviously didn't know who Halle Berry was, but if I had known I would have made sure it happened...I would have written Monster's Ball myself immediately."
Well...that's just as creepy as it is endearing.
