Ray Allen, 19-Year NBA veteran and one of the many star players on last season's Eastern Conference Champions the Miami Heat, may not return to American Airlines Arena next year, if he comes back to play at all. There are rumors that Allen may be ready to hang up his sneakers for good. And after a recent home invasion wherein his wife and kids were victims of teen trespassers, he might be into staying home with the family these days.
After 19 years in the biz, some insiders doubt whether he wants to come back and play another season (via Fan Sided):
"There still remains a belief in his circle that Allen may no longer have the drive to get into the kind of playing shape he expects of himself and that the allure of spending time with his family is very real."
Of course this is understandable, especially since his family were recently scared to death by a group of teenagers who were at a party a few doors down and reportedly snuck into the Allen's house a few weeks ago (via Miami Herald):
"I was dead asleep but I saw flashlights and heard voices. Very bright flashlights, like the big, heavy duty flashlights. I guess they were on a tour, pointing out stuff like, 'Oh, wow, look at these pictures. Oh look he has a flat-screen TV.' "
