Damien Sandow Revolving Character Gimmick: Good Or Bad? WWE Creative Should Push Him

There are a lot of opinions about Damian Sandow's current revolving character gimmick. At best, it's an opportunity for comic relief in the middle of a card full of blood feuds. At its worst, Sandow's gimmick is potentially distracting, and potentially harmful to his ability to grow in the company. While it sometimes seems like a good idea executed poorly, other times it seems like Sandow is being punished for drunkenly groping Linda McMahon at a Christmas Party. The bottom line is, WWE Creative should push him, and while they shouldn't abandon his gimmick altogether, a few tweaks might be in order.

Sandow might be getting buried, or he might be in the middle of an epic gestation period in which the next Mankind emerges from the schizophrenic egg of Sandow's multiple personality gimmick. The most frustrating part of watching may be that right now it's impossible to tell which is happening. But there is promise in that angle (via Cage Side Seats):

"Detractors might call attention to the fact that it takes time to refine one's personality and that the process cannot be rushed, but naysayers also said it was impossible to split the atom and they were proven wrong. We don't know until we try.

"In a sport where your career can end at a moment's notice, don't wrestlers owe it to themselves and their fans to find their ideal ring personality as soon as possible? Thank you Damien Sandow!"

While there's nothing wrong with a little comedy, it may behoove the WWE Creative team and Sandow to mix a little bit of darkness in with the light. Some say a feud would be ideal (via Bleacher Report):

"Without a rival, he'll remain stagnant. There is no motivation for him, no object of his aggression. Give him a foil, focus on him as he goes mad over time, have him antagonize the crowd and watch him become a more fascinating character."
