Word has it the new producers at ABC are giving The View a major overhall in addition to replacing Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy with Rosie O'Donnell after they were fired at the end of last season. According to the latest gossip news updates, however, Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie are going to have their hands full next year trying to corral the rating once The Fab makes it network premiere. Word has it that Nicole Richie, Tyra Banks and Chrissy Teigen have already filmed that pilot for the new talk show supposedly based on the original View format designed to target a much younger demographic. If the rumors are true, ABC better be looking at some very younger cohosts to stick up there next to the comedy icons of yore currently set to helm the program.
After nearly two decades on the air, Barbara Walters baby, The View is getting a whole new makeover.
In addition to several Twitter social media updates by the show, the Huffington Post has the details about the View's move and makeover:
"The View is moving from the studio that it has had for the past 17 years, and into the former studio for Katie Couric's daytime show a few blocks away.
"A new 'in-the-round' set will be place the audience around Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell and their co-hosts. The show seems to want to be more interactive, because the new set is also said to include an 'on-camera social media station.'"
Unfortunately, it may be too little, too late as reports are starting to surface that The View is soon to be completely overshadowed by new talk show The Fab--set to cater to a younger audience.
According to a supposed insider, who spoke to OK! Magazine for their September 1 issue, Nicole Richie, Tyra Banks and Chrissy Teigen have already filmed the pilot and are ready to dominate the world of day time talk show television:
"Chrissy, Tyra and Nicole are all very witty and have no trouble expressing themselves.
"Plus, they're honest and willing to talk about their own real-life problems--and fans can relate to that."
The source claims that real stand-out star is Twitter queen, Chrissy Tiegen, and her disarming charm:
"She doesn't have a shy bone in her body...the audience will love her on live TV."
Of course...Whoopi and The View crew have nothing to worry about unless the pilot is picked up.
