Ex-World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan Return After Neck Injury: Former Ring Of Honor Alum May Need Tommy John Surgery?

Daniel Bryan, inarguably one of the best wrestlers in the business today, and certainly one of the most popular, is still unsure when he will return to WWE. The 2-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion and Ring of Honor alum has been injured since April and may require additional surgeries. Initially thought to be just a neck injury, the former and future YES! Movement poster boy is now possibly facing Tommy John surgery for his elbow.

Acccording to Bleacher Report, Daniel Bryan may need additional surgery in the form of the Tommy John procedure. Although the operation is primarily thought of as a treatment for pitchers in baseball, it is believed that Bryan's neck injury may have caused nerve damage to his elbow.

While no injury is good news, it especially stings since Bryan was champion when he got hurt. He had so much momentum, there's no telling where he could have gone if he were still healthy (via Bleacher Report):

"Bryan left while on top of the wrestling world. He was the most over star in the business, he consistently put together thrilling matches, and the company was using him in the right storylines."

Even though Bryan admits to being frustrated with his current situation, he is also super proud of his wife, Brie Bella. Her recent angle with Stephanie McMahon has been a major plotline since WWE's Payback in May (via Christian Post):

"Oh my gosh, I'm so proud of her. Her and Stephanie - the main event to RAW, two weeks in a row! That hasn't happened with Divas in years. Now she's in what's, in my mind, the second-biggest match in SummerSlam, and Divas just don't get that opportunity very often."
