The age of the jungle is coming. Not only are reboots of Tarzan and King Kong in the works, but there are going to be two, count them, two Jungle Book movies. Mr Motion Capture himself, Andy Serkis (The Lord of The Rings) is directing a version of the classic story for Warner Brothers. Disney is also taking another crack at the timeless tale. It was recently announced that, Star Trek and Sherlock star, Benedict Cumberbatch will be providing the voice of the villainous tiger Shere Khan the WB film. Thor and Pacific Rim’s Idris Elba, will be playing the role in the Disney feature, alongside an all star cast Avengers 2 and Lucy’s Scarlett Johansson, Iron Man 3’s Ben Kingsley, 12 Years a Slave’s Lupita Nyong’o and Peter Pan’s Christopher Walken.
Benedict Cumberbatch has reportedly joined the cast of Andy Serkis’ upcoming Jungle Book: Origins film. The film will be produced by, Harry Potter screenwriter, Steve Kloves, and written by his daughter Callie.
Iron Man director Jon Favreau will helm Disney’s upcoming Juingle Book movie, with Idris Elba voicing Shere Khan, Christopher Walken as King Louie, Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa and Bill Murray as Baloo the Bear.
