It looks like Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice may be facing even more fraud charges. This latest update comes after both the reality star's guilty plea in court and her feud with talking head Nancy Grace.
Teresa may be facing new fraud allegations, but at least this time they don't involve the federal government. Instead, it just involves a little bit of product placement.
On the latest episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa and Joe are filmed giving their daughter Gia some jewelry. The diamond ring, they claimed, belonged to GIa's grandmother.
But, according to Radar Online, the entire scene was faked. One source tells the publication that it was pure payola:
"The diamond ring had been given to Teresa about a year ago by a jeweler in New Jersey. Teresa wanted to give Gia the ring on camera to give publicity to the jeweler...Teresa's mother never had the ring for any extended period of time. It was all done for the show, and it's now back in Teresa's possession."
Of course, this isn't the first time that Teresa has been accused of playing the system. In fact, Nancy Grace was accusing Teresa of fraud before Giudice even plead guilty.
On her screaming-match-disguised-as-a-show, Grace told viewers that she was certain Joe and Teresa did it:
"I think [Teresa and Joe] were in it together and you know what? You can get away with shoplifting, maybe stealing a car but don't mess with the feds when it comes to money. Never mess with the tax man. Never mess with the feds alright? They have no mercy. I predict they're going down. Much as Martha Stewart was used I think they will be used as an example to other people."
