TNT ‘Rizzoli and Isles’ New Episode Preview: Lee Thompson Young Barry Frost Replacement Nina Holiday Secrets Revealed [SPOILERS]

Rizzoli and Isles is all new tonight on TNT. Check the official plot synopsis to see what tonight’s episode is all about. Meanwhile, E.P. Jan Nash has opened up about Lee Thompson Young’s Barry Frost replacement, Nina Holidays secrets.

The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode, titled “Phoenix Rising,” reads:

“The team joins forces with Korsak in a bid to crack a cold case. Jane, still unable to return to duty, takes unconventional measures to stay involved.”

The show recently introduced a brand new characther. Executive producer Jan Nash recently spoke with TV Guide about not making a big deal out replacing Frost:

"I think usually it would be a big deal for any show, but we didn't make it too much of a thing at the beginning. We wanted to ease into it given the circumstances...Obviously you can't replace Lee and the Barry Frost role on the show, and in making the decision to really live in the dramatic impact of the loss, we ended up creating some new dynamics within the existing characters. We put Korsak [Bruce McGill] and Jane [Angie Harmon] on cases together, letting Frankie [Jordan Bridges] be involved and have access, and you don't want to disrupt those again by throwing a new detective into it. We really put a lot of thought into creating this new character. We think of her as a new character, not his replacement per se. She's filling a part of the show that is adjacent to, but not quite what Frost was doing."

Nash, recently spoke to TV Guide about newcomer Nina’s reasons for coming to town:

"Her reason is professional and personal, but it's nothing completely shocking, It will connect a lot of the dots between [now and then]."

Check out the all new episode of Rizzoli and Isles tonight at 9:00 p.m. on TNT.
