The new Lifetime Saved By The Bell movie is almost here and now the show’s stars are opening up about their thoughts on the film based on Dustin Diamond’s book Behind The Bell. Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano) and Franklin and Bash’s Mark-Paul Gosselaar have both spoken their minds about the film.
Some of the stars are not so excited about the upcoming film. Jessie Spano actress Elizabeth Berkley recently spoke to Us Weekly about the new movie:
"I am not really curious about it to tell you the truth. We know the lives we lead and it was so innocent. Our parents were on set with us every day and it was so innocent. It was such a different time so I have no idea… it's not our real journey on that show together. It was a really sweet time so I have no idea what it's going to be."
Zack Morris himself, Mark-Paul Gosselaar recently spoke to The Huffington Post about the book that the movie is based on:
"Everything I've heard about his book is that it's very negative, and I don't remember those things. My experience on the show was very positive."
However, Dustin Diamond is confident that his former fellow cast members will be happy with the final product, telling The Daily Beast:
“I think when this movie comes out, it’s going to surprise people because it’s not salacious, it’s not dirty, it’s not negative,” he insisted. “It’s embracing all the positive things that happened and clarifying certain things. I think everyone’s going to like it, including the other cast members.”
The all new movie airs September 1 on Lifetime.
