If Seattle's preseason dominance is any indication, they will be headed back to the Super Bowl easily this year. Despite a great overall team performance, it was still the Seahawks' golden god Russell Wilson who stole the show against San Diego Friday night. The defending champions crushed the Chargers 41-14 while Wilson went 11 for 13 and leading his team to 255 yards of total offense in the first half, before letting his backups finish the deed. And if rumors are to be believed, that's not the only kind of connection Wilson has been making lately. Everyone knows Wilson is getting divorced, but after being spotted at the ESPYs with virgin spokeswoman and Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones, fans must be wondering if Wilson has a new girlfriend.
Seattle crushed San Diego the other night. As usual, Wilson spread the love to his teammates, downplaying his own spectacular performance (via USA Today):
"'I definitely believe we can be that explosive. It starts first of all with the offensive line and how well they're doing ... but then you think about our receivers and we have so many talented receivers.'"
Chargers' backup quarterback Kellen Clemens tried to use some of Wilson's patented humility in a post-game interview:
"'There are some run-game things I'm still working through, some checks, that I know are going to come out today. Still some things that we can improve on in the pass game, me specifically.'"
But off the field, it's still Wilson's love life that has people buzzing. Since the ESPYs last month, fans have got to wonder whether he has a new squeeze :
"Reports are coming in that imply Russell may be hooking up with track star Lolo Jones. The two were reportedly inseparable at the ESPYs last week, and though Jones claims she is a virgin, she might have her sights set on a man of God who wins Super Bowls and does charity work."
