Despite the hope and wishes of millions of tweens, Divergent stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James are not dating. It's not that the onscreen boyfriend and girlfriend have split, because they were never actually seeing each other in the first place. The Underworld action star has been dating Ruth Kearney, who he met whilst studying acting, for years. Besides Shai, who admits to have some trouble adapting the action movie aesthetic, is said to be dating none other the Juno's gay Ellen Page. Ansel Elgort plays Woodley brother in the Insurgent sequel and her lover in Fault of Our Stars, but according to the latest gossip news updates he is mitten with country music vixen Taylor Swift. Ansolo is reportedly dating Violetta Komyshan, but he made no attempt at hiding how gobsmacked he was after accepting his Teen Choice Award from the Instagram feet model.
Shailene Woodley has had to make a few adjustments since making it big as the star of the new Divergent franchise.
For one, Woodley has had to get use to the constant speculation about who she is dating, especially rumors that she and Theo James have some sort of secret romance going.
Another big change from her days of working with George Clooney on movies like Descendants it the ridiculous dialogue and one-lines that are staples of every super-successful action franchise.
During an interview with Express, Shailene recalled having to have the spirit of the genre broken down to her by Zoe Kravitz, before she really got with it (via Radio Times):
"One day, I had some cheesy action-film line like, 'You're mine now' and I said, 'That's crazy, Tris would never say that.'
"[Then] Kravitz said, 'Shai, you're making an action film now. Sometimes it's fun to just do things that don't make sense in real life.'
"So then it sort of clicked and I was like, Zoe's right, this isn't an indie film, it's a big blockbuster."
For all his acting chops, Insurgent costar Ansel Elgort couldn't hide how excited he was to be meeting Taylor Swift at the Teen Choice Awards.
Elgort's girlfriend Violetta Komyshan had better keep an eye on her beau, because he seems to be cray-cray for Taye-Taye.
The day after the event, Ansel updated his Instagram page with one Swift pic after another:
"Real life?????? This is insane. I can't thank you all enough for voting for me. Yes that's Taylor Swift giving me the surfboard. Wtf is life...#tfios"
"Lol. Sorry I just think this is cool. #tfios"
Looks like Ansel isn't too big on playing hard to get.
