This past weekend the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival honored jazz guitarist Mike Jackson with the Lifetime Achievement Award based on his years of impeccable talent.
"This award is our way of letting him and the community know that we acknowledge the work he's done and we salute him for the years of music he's provided,” said Hudson Valley Jazz Festival founder Steve Rubin.
In addition to Mike Jackson’s honor, there was plenty to be seen and had at the once dubbed Warwick Jazz Festival. Here, then, to celebrate the final day of performances we are delighted to share our Sunday picks.
Things started off with brunch at the Iron Forge Inn to catch honoree Jackson with help of the Mike Jackson Group over some eggs.
Later in the afternoon, the Warwick Grove put on a fantastic display of "Women Of Jazz In The Hudson Valley" featuring Judi Salvino, Gabriel Tranchina, Kaitlyn Faye and Lydia Pidlusky.
Cloing out the night, and festival, perfectly was the New York Swing Exchange presented by Warwick's concert exchange.
Watch below as they perform “Teach Me Tonight,” and get into the swing of things.
