Just when it looked like things couldn't get any worse for Halle Berry, rumors have surfaced that the Extant star's marriage to French actor, Olivier Martinez, is very near divorce. Perhaps, Olivier saw the amount of money the Catwoman was forced to pay ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, after losing her latest child support court battle and figured he better make his move to secure a sizable chunk of her X-MEN movie franchise net worth before it's too late. Whatever the real reason, the latest tabloid gossip news claims that Berry and her beau are ready to call it quits and split.
There is talk that NBC's astronaut thriller, Extant, is being considered for cancellation, but that could be the best thing for Halle Berry, who needs to minimize her current annual salary if the reports that she and Oliver Martinez are readying for divorce are true.
According to a supposed insider who spoke to OK! Magazine for their August 25, issue, Halle and Oli can't hardly even put in the effort to try to and make their marriage work any longer:
"The whole family was supposed to go on a make-or-break it holiday, but that fell apart because neither Olivier nor Halle wanted to make it happen.
"They have drifted apart and only get together for the sake of Maceo [their son]...They are just delaying the inevitable--announcing their split."
The super spy swears the despite only having been married a little over a year the ever-busy Berry just can't stomach Martinez' seeming unwillingness to work:
"His career as dried up...He's been taking small TV roles, but nothing that has tied him down for more than handful of episodes.
"Halle has lost a bit of respect for him...The spark they once had has burned out."
If Halle is soon looking for another suitor, she need look no further than her old Monster's Ball costar, Billy Bob Thornton.
During a recent discussion with HuffPost Live, Thornton not only waxed poetic about their shared sex scene, the All the Pretty Horses director talked about it like it was a life altering bucket list event:
"It felt so real when we were doing it that [we felt] the heaviness surrounding the circumstances in the story.
"I think maybe that's why it comes across so well on screen, because it was two desperate human beings in this moment alone, and we kind of were alone."
"When I was growing up, I obviously didn't know who Halle Berry was, but if I had known I would have made sure it happened...I would have written Monster's Ball myself immediately."
That would have made for a pretty interesting Sling Blade sequel.
