The nation is reeling from the loss of comedy legend Robin Williams. Williams tragically took his own life by hanging himself according to police reports. The beloved actor, known for his roles in Mrs. Doubtfire, Aladdin and Mork and Mindy, just to name a few. We couldn’t possibly list all the roles that this amazing actor performed throughout his storied career. Now Williams’ Good Will Hunting co-star Ben Affleck (Batman V Superman) is opening up about his friend.
Williams was known as comedic legend, who occasionally broke type and wowed audiences. One of his more serious roles was in Good Will Hunting. The 1997 film was written by Williams’ co-stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. Now Affleck is opening up about the loss of man who helped launch his career writing on Facebook:
“Heartbroken. Thanks chief--for your friendship and for what you gave the world. Robin had a ton of love in him. He personally did so much for so many people. He made Matt and my dreams come true.
“What do you owe a guy who does that? Everything.
“May you find peace my friend. #RobinWilliams.”
Comedian Steve Martin also remembered Williams via Twitter, writing:
“I could not be more stunned by the loss of Robin Williams, mensch, great talent, acting partner, genuine soul.”
Several media outlets are now reporting that Williams hung himself. We, like you, are at loss at the news of William's passing.
