A few weeks after golf's bad boy Dustin Johnson took a "voluntary" leave of absence from the PGA tour, he is still playing lots of golf- when he's not caddying for his fiancée Paulina! The daughter of The Great One, Wayne Gretzky, is standing by her man after threat of suspension for testing positive for marijuana and cocaine, as well as accusations of Johnson sleeping with the wives of multiple fellow Tour members.
Johnson was reportedly threatened with a six-month suspension for his multiple infractions against the PGA's code of conduct, but was given the chance to save face by leaving of his own accord (via Bleacher Report):
"I am taking a leave of absence from professional golf, effective immediately. I will use this time to seek professional help for personal challenges I have faced. By committing the time and resources necessary to improve my mental health, physical well-being and emotional foundation, I am confident that I will be better equipped to fulfill my potential and become a consistent champion."
Unfortunately, the media had already caught wind of the impending suspension.
Still, Dustin is apparently doing what he needs to do, as he is reportedly spending his days at an Idaho golf club with his lady fair (via CBS Sports):
"Most thought [the announcement] was a hint that he was going to a treatment center. Instead, he's been up in Northern Idaho at Gozzer Ranch [Golf and Lake Club], hanging out with the Gretzky family, caddying for Paulina in the club's ladies' member-guest, and playing a lot of golf, playing almost every day."
Other than the obvious charade of Johnson's sabbatical being optional, It's probably for the best that he take some time to regroup and clear his head. Even if he's not at rehab, at least he won't be tempted by all those golfers' wives
