What started out as simply a salacious story about Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones getting caught posing with strippers in naughty positions has turned into a much more strange and convoluted mess. The photos, taken about five years ago, appeared on Twitter a little over a week ago. Although they were supposedly taken by a female friend without their knowledge, they appeared publicly on Twitter when one Frank Hoover posted them along with a manifesto detailing an alleged extortion plot. Now the women are getting lawyers to cover their butts from legal action- even though they claim they were not responsible for the photos being made public.
Even though the outspoken NFL owner has an opinion about everything, he remains unsurprisingly silent on the matter (via CBS Sports):
"Someone has misrepresented photos taken at a restaurant five years ago for their own purposes. I'm just not going to comment on it."
Much of the story so far doesn't add up. It almost seems like the plot to a poorly written 90's crime thriller is being played out in the news cycle. Even their statements seem contradictory (via TMZ):
"Although they appear to be posing ... both women claim they and Jerry had no idea the pics were being taken -- and say Jones' bodyguard would have confiscated the camera if they had a clue. They say they never wanted the photos to go public -- so, they've retained an attorney to find out how they can have them scrubbed from the Internet."
Of course, the two women also claim there was a lot of alcohol involved on the night in question, so even if they honestly didn't remember posing, that doesn't mean they didn't see the camera at the time.
So that just leaves the question, who the heck is Frank Hoover and what does he have to do with Jerry Jones?
