Time for another news update about the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey movie. After Charlie Hunnam abandoned the role of Christian Grey and Rita Ora underwent a breakup from her boyfriend, there appears to be more bad news for the cast. Turns out that Dakota Johnson is so worried about her mom seeing her performance of Anastasia Steele, that she has banned her from seeing the movie.
While millions of middle-aged women are eagerly awaiting the film adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey, there is one woman who will not be allowed to see the movie. That person is none other than Melanie Griffith.
Why? Because her daughter, Dakota Johnson, doesn't think it would be appropriate.
Johnson, who stars opposite Jamie Dornan in the BDSM romp, thinks it would be a little too much for dear old mom to handle. When mom Melanie spoke with Metro, the acting legend informed readers that she had been banned:
"I have not seen Fifty Shades Of Grey. I don't think I'm going to see it...[Dakota] was like, 'You guys cannot come. There's no way.' So we're not going. I did go visit for a couple of days when they were shooting just normal stuff. I did see the room of pain - I did go in there and check it out."
Of course, Dakota isn't the only actress whose home life was affected by the film. Rita Ora also reportedly suffered from the film.
Many have even suggested that she and boyfriend Calvin Harris broke up over the stress that 50 caused.
After all, rumors that Rita and Calvin were splitting up first surfaced during the filming of 50 Shades of Grey in Canada. One source told The Mirror that the film really put a strain on their relationship:
"It's been tough for both of them but it's been even harder for them to spend time together recently. He's been busy DJing and she's working on her new album and shooting Fifty Shades of Grey. Calvin is more private when it comes to fame than Rita, which also played a part. He'd be happy to meet someone who has nothing to do with the industry."
