Recently, Simpsons and Smurfs actor Hank Azaria has joined the cast as FBI chief Ed Cochran. Now both Azaria and Liev Schreiber are opening up how similar the character is to Ray Donovan.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of Ray Donovan, titled “Irish Spring,” reads:
“Ray gets compromising information on Cochran, who is interrogating Mickey. Meanwhile, Abby tries to have fun with her prospective Trousdale neighbors and gets closer to Jim, her cop friend; Marvin gives Bridget an earring and takes her to a party; and Ray brings Conor to apologize to Alex”
Hank Azaria recently spoke to USA Today about how similar his character Ed is to Ray, calling him "an odd mirror image" and "a guy who has set things up to do what he wants to do. This guy's purely about power in every moment."
Liev Schreiber also chimed in, adding:
"They're remarkably similar in their controlling nature. people who are dominating and controlling in the way these two characters are, there's an anxiety that if they don't control the world, something will be revealed that could hurt them terribly."
