Guillermo del Toro’s new FX vampire outbreak drama The Strain is all new tonight. Meanwhile, the show’s executive producer, Carlton Cuse, is about to have a lot more work on his hands. Cuse, who is also the executive producer of A&E’s breakout hit Bates Motel has also been handed the reigns to USA’s new alien drama Colony. The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of The Strain, titled “Runaways,” reads:
Eph joins Setrakian's push for a quarantine. Meanwhile, a medical emergency threatens Palmer's plan.
Executive Producer Carlton Cuse and, his partner in crime, Ryan Condal are joining the new USA alien drama Colony. TV Guide is reporting a statement made by USA Network president Chris McCumber who wrote:
"Colony is a gripping story that brilliantly weaves together an intense family drama in an authentic, yet unknown, world. We are pleased to be in business with Ryan Condal and Carlton Cuse, who is clearly one of the best in the industry when it comes to genre fiction."
The publication goes on the describe the new series, writing:
“Set in the near future in Los Angeles, Colony follows a family who must make difficult choices as they attempt to balance staying together with the simple act of surviving in a world where outside forces attempt to tear them apart.”
