HBO’s hit series True Blood and Boardwalk Empire are coming both in, and or starting, their final seasons. That means the network is looking for new series to air whenever Game of Thrones isn’t on. So HBO has turned to J.J.Abrams (Star Wars, Star Trek, Lost, Fringe, Revolution, Do we need to go on?) to bring Michael Crichton’s, (Jurassic Park) 1973 futuristic western, Westworld, back to life. legendary actor, Anthony Hopkins, ( Thor, Silence of the Lambs, and about 1000 other things) has reportedly been cast in the upcoming series. Now James Marsden ( X-Men Cyclops, Anchorman 2, 30 Rock, and Hairspray) has been added to the cast list.
HBO is rebooting Michael Crichton's 1973 film, Westworld. The official IMDB plot description for the original film, reads:
“A robot malfunction creates havoc and terror for unsuspecting vacationers at a futuristic, adult-themed amusement park.”
The kind of sounds like another one of Michael Crichton’s other works, only instead of robot cowboys, it was cloned dinosaurs.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Anthony Hopkins will play Dr Robert Ford, who is describe as, “the brilliant, taciturn and complicated Creative Director, Chief Programmer and Chairman of the Board of Westworld; Ford has an uncompromising creative vision for the park--and unorthodox methods of achieving it.”
James Marsden will reportedly play Teddy Flood, a mysterious and charming stranger who mossies into town.
