Former TNT analyst Steve Kerr, who also won three NBA Championships with his old teammate Michael Jordan, is taking serious steps to prepare for his new job as the Golden State Warriors' new coach. He had the opportunity to talk with Pete Carroll, head coach of the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks. It's a good start to study the work of the masters.
Kerr may have ruffled a few feathers by reaching out to Bay Area rival Seattle for advice, but he's just trying to formulate a winning strategy (via San Jose Mercury News):
"As a young coach I just like to see people at work. And Pete obviously is one of the best. He's one of the most intriguing people that I've met and that I've sort of watched over the years as a football fan."
When asked about his career accolades in a recent interview, Kerr reportedly avoided talking about himself, saying the focus should be on the players (via SF Gate):
"It's not good practice as a coach. I'm probably going to piss off my TNT buddies, because I'm going to turn off my microphone when they (broadcast our games)."
