Amateur MMA fighter Mayura Dissanayake has only had about five official bouts in his brief career. But he beat some guys down who were attacking his co-worker at his other job -as a gas station attendant! Surveillance video shows him thwarting an attempted robbery using his fighting skills while defending his buddy.
UFC lord-and-master Dana White seemed impressed saying he loved seeing Dissanayake take out the would-be assailants (via Fox Sports):
"Mixed martial arts is the new martial art that people are taking all over the world. Although I don't recommend crime fighting ... but dirtbags should beware."
Mayura said his instincts took over when he sensed danger (via USA Today):
"I wasn't thinking," Dissanayake tells USA TODAY Sports. "I just saw these two guys beating my co-worker up. I just ran outside without thinking about it."
