A UPS deliveryman was caught stealing a package dropped off by a FedEx, right in front a homeowners door step.
The UPS deliveryman was caught on camera right in front the Texas home of Sandra and Al Alverson who were expecting a newly delivered iPad Mini.
KHOU broke the story on Dec. 20 after the man's video footage of the UPS man stealing the FedEx package went viral on YouTube.
The iPad was meant to be a Christmas gift and after not seeing the package the couple was alarmed when they received a confirmation email from FedEx that the item was delivered at 9:29 a.m.
According to the Examiner, Alverson, who installed a surveillance camera above the home's front door three years ago, played back footage on his DVR and saw the UPS man waltzing away with his prized item.
"I said, 'oh my god,' it is the UPS guy," Alverson told a local reporter.
Having seen the footage of one of their own getting away with theft, UPS acted swiftly to rectify the situation and make it up to the Alversons.
"I got a call this morning and they were very helpful. They promised they would get me a replacement iPad today," said Alverson.
According to the Examiner, UPS confirmed that the alleged package thief worked as a delivery driver, but only as a seasonal worker during the holidays. Reportedly, he was fired, arrested and charged with theft by Harris County Sheriff's Department.
